On May 28, firefighter/MICT Aaron Mitchell’s father, Patrick, was hit by a truck while training on a bicycle on Queen Kaahumanu Highway in Kailua-Kona. Patrick suffered a serious spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the chest down and he has been at Craig Hospital in Colorado since then, showing small but promising improvements.

To help cover current and future expenses for his recovery there, a charity golf tournament is scheduled at Waikoloa Kings’ Golf Course beginning with check-in at 9 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. this Sunday. Spots are limited in four-man scramble format. To RSVP call the King’s Golf Course at 886-7888.
